This workshop is designed as an introduction to the core principals of Astrological Magic. We will cover the core methodologies behind using personal birth charts in magic, and in creation of unique talismans, and dive into the rich tapestry of astrological symbolism that permeates, ensouls, and enlivens the mundane world around us. We will discuss the known origins of Astrological Magic, discuss the major texts, the basic do’s and don’ts, introduce planetary hours, and explore the archetypal attributes of each personal planet as it corresponds to the craft. In addition we will discuss their core mythological archetypes and storylines in order to provide context for the bounds and limits of working with each planet in magic and ritual. As we journey into the symbolic worlds of each planetary archetype, we will explore its expression through the plant and herbs in the PNW, gems and stones, metals, elements, and the states of physical being that associated with each. Our work will provide a foundation for choosing materials for working astrological magic, and give you the tools to being experimenting with calling down the cosmos. By the end of this workshop the symbolic archetypal world of astrology around you will come alive. After the talk each student will pick a personal planet to work with, assemble a collection of symbolic elements to represent it, then go home with a bag of magical goodies to use in creating a talisman, or a ritual shrine, enlivened with the spirit of the planetary archetype itself.
